Senior Living Community at Mission San Luis Rey

Mission San Luis Rey has leased the southwest corner of our property to Oppidan LLC for the development of a senior living community, to be named The Hacienda at Mission San Luis Rey.  The senior living community will be operated by Watermark Retirement Communities.  The project, constructed by WE O’Neill Construction, will take about two years to complete, or September 2023.  The senior living community will consist of 213 rooms, with 103 spaces for independent living, 80 spaces for assisted living, and 29 spaces for memory care.  In addition, there will be designated spaces for our Friars. 

The senior living community will include many amenities including a wellness center, fitness center, multiple dining rooms, a theater, chapel, library, a dog park, and a shuttle to the Mission and Parish.  There will be walking paths with access to the Mission grounds as well.
