Join us for a favorite Mission tradition, Lessons and Carols – followed by our annual Tree Lighting on the Mission Steps! You won’t want to miss this!

We will begin the evening with the biblical narration of the Fall, the Promise of a Messiah, the Incarnation of Christ, and the Great Commission to share the Good News. We will sing traditional Christmas carols with the company of Francisco Osio and the many beautiful voices of our parish community, all in the warmth and beauty of our historical Mission Church. Afterward, we will process out of the Church, gather around the Christmas Tree and sing festive carols as we light the tree. Then enjoy fellowship with cookies and hot chocolate.

Fr. Vince was born into a large Sicilian immigrant family that arrived in the country in the early 1900’s. He graduated from San Luis Rey College and went on to Mission San Miguel to begin his novitiate year, making first vows in the Franciscan Order in 1967. Fr. Vince completed his theological studies at the Franciscan School of Theology (FST) in Berkeley, professed solemn vows in 1971, and was ordained into the priesthood in 1972. Since that time, Fr. Vince has been involved in a broad range of ministries including pastor of several parishes, guardian and formation director at FST and retreat ministry at San Damiano Retreat Center. At present, Fr. Vince is the guardian and a formation director of theology students at FST in San Diego. His love of music has been a big part of his ministries throughout the years, serving as director of the Oakland Diocesan Choir, the St. Anthony Boys’ Chorus in Portland, and many other church choirs throughout the St. Barbara Province.
