The Mission San Luis Rey Cemetery is available to people from all walks of life.

Front Entrance of Cemetery

Since 1798, these peaceful and tranquil grounds have been entrusted to the loving care of the Franciscan Friars. Buried within the cemetery are many of the area's leading pioneers and families.

The entrance to the oldest community burial ground in North San Diego County is found at the front side of the Mission next to the Main entrance of the Church.

Indian Memorial

This monument was erected in 1830 by Fray Antonio Peyri in honor of the LuiseƱo Indians who helped to build and maintain the "King of the Missions".

The cemetery grounds are well maintained to ensure a serene setting.
